Barra – the island where the plane lands on the beach. The stunning tidal airport is served by the Twin Otter – one of the last turbo-prop planes in commercial service. Other tourist attractions are available.
Like the Twin Otter and the tide, the Barrach Breakfast tea is a dependable creation, equally refreshing on land or at sea.
Hints of: the Vatersay boys and long naps on the ferry
Net weight: 60g (20 teabags) | 30g (10 teabags)
Ingredients: Indian Assam Black Tea, Kenyan Black Tea
Benbecula, North and South Uist – three islands inextricably linked – are famous for their musicians, a bear called Hercules who took himself off on an adventure and a Rocket Range.
Like it’s namesake, the Uibhisteach Breakfast Tea brings three unique flavours together to create a perfectly formed whole – chust sublime with a biscuit.
Hints of: going up south and down north.
Net weight: 60g (20 teabags) | 30g (10 teabags)
Ingredients: Indian Assam Black Tea, Sri Lankan Black Tea, Indian Darjeeling Black Tea, Natural Flavouring.
Na Hearadh is home to the world famous Harris Tweed. Governed by its own Act of Parliament this hard-wearing fabric is woven into the very essence of the island.
Like the cloth, the Hearach Breakfast Tea combines beautiful ingredients to produce a perfect blend – well rounded and full bodied.
Hints of: campervans and a good yarn
Net weight: 60g (20 teabags) | 30g (10 teabags)
Ingredients: Indian Assam Black Tea, Sri Lankan Black Tea, Chinese Yunnan Black Tea
Pillars of the community in Lewis include Black Puddings, the 5000 year old The Calanais Stones and local crofter Sweeny who is also outstanding in his field.
Like the island which inspires it, the Leòdhasach Breakfast Tea is a deliciously complex blend with a strong but loveable accent.
Hints of: Peat & Diesel.
Net weight: 60g (20 teabags) | 30g (10 teabags)
Indian Assam Black Tea, Sri Lankan Black Tea, Chinese Keemun Black Tea

Great to have a selection of breakfast teas. Hearach is probably the strongest of this selection, and definitely a morning tea. Uibhisteach has a hint of vanilla about it, so mid morning brew? Both Leòdhasach and Barrach are smooth teas, but my favourite evening drink is definitely Barrach.

Choose a large mug for these quality tea bags. It means that you can enjoy more of the delicious tea!. Lovely aroma too and you won’t be disappointed with them. I use them through the day.

As always my order form Tiree Tea arrived promptly and well packed. Having now tried one of each of the four teas I can say that my favourites are the Hearach and the Leòdhasach. For me the Uibhisteach (which contains some Indian Darjeeling) was a little too smoky in taste and the Barrach just a little too harsh. This of course is just a personal taste preference, not a reflection on the overall quality of the teas. I wish you continued success with Tiree Tea!
Update:
Having made more mugs of tea with all 4 Hebriteas I would like to update my review. I think I was leaving the bags steeping for too long and hence getting quite a strong cuppa. Each bag will easily make enough tea for two and I now love all of them equally!

This pack allows you to try the different teas and find a favourite. I enjoyed them all. Some I preferred in the morning and others in the afternoon. They may seem a little expensive but they are Excellent Artisan Teas Well Worth Trying.

Enjoying all the breakfast teas and the tasting notes! Particularly like the Barrach tea. Good strong flavour and quick to brew.
Would be happy to buy loose tea rather than bags if it was available.
