Tiree Tea

The Tiree Tea logo (and product artwork) is the work of Catriona Black of Black Prints.

It is a hand-cut, linocut logo, which is incredibly cool. The story of the whole process is on Catriona’s blog.

Catriona is based in the Netherlands, but back in the day our fathers were colleagues! I love her work and was delighted when she agreed to help me out.

The house is Coll View in Caolas, Isle of Tiree. I am the 5th generation in the family to live in it since it was built by my great-great-grandfather in 1891. Find out more about the Isle of Tiree.

You can in fact buy a book all about the history of the house, and the croft it sits on. My Dad wrote A Croft in Caolas, documenting its history, and it can be purchased over on isle20.com.

In addition to the Tiree Tea logo, the rest of our artwork is also Catriona’s handiwork. Her vibrant colours and bold outlines are a key part of the product. They bring the stories to life, and as an excellent proof reader, Catriona also reins in my more outlandish descriptions on the back of the packets! You can see her work on each of our labels.
