There’s nothing quite like a hot cup of tea on a cold day. If you’re looking for something more than just your average cup of tea, try one of these ways to brew tea! You may find that you have a new favorite way to make a cup of tea!

Cold Brew Tea

Brewing tea in cold water can be done overnight, or even in minutes with the right supplies. To cold brew your own tea at home, use 1 teaspoon loose leaf tea per 8 ounces of water. Place the loose leaf tea in a container and fill it with cold water. Then cover it and place it in the fridge for 4-12 hours. It depends on how strong you want the flavor to be. When finished brewing, strain out the leaves and enjoy your freshly brewed cold brew tea!

Any of our black tea blends work well as cold brew. We suggest starting with Crofter, or Uibhisteach.

Try Different Herbs

Most people are used to using just black or green teas when they make their own cups of tea. But why not switch things up and try adding some herbs into the mix? Herbs such as chamomile, ginger, fennel seed, lavender, mint, rosemary or sage can all add delightful flavors to your cup of tea. Add them when you brew tea you love, like your favorite black or green teas. Let them steep of 3-5 minutes for an added layer of flavor!

Adding ginger to our nettle and mint tea is a great way to add a little bit of a kick!

Use Coconut Milk

If dairy isn’t your thing but you still want something creamy in your cup of tea, try coconut milk! It adds a subtle sweetness that complements any type of herbal or black teas nicely. For best results use full fat canned coconut milk instead of coconut creamers or other non-dairy powders made from soy or almond milk as they tend to be too thin and won’t provide enough body.

Add Honey

Adding honey is an easy way to sweeten a cup of herbal or black tea without altering the flavor profile too much. Not only does honey provide sweetness but it also has its own unique flavor. It can really enhance the taste of whichever kind of teas you are using! Plus it’s natural so you don’t have to worry about putting anything artificial into your drink either!

Try Infusing Fruit

Fruits like oranges, lemons, limes and even mangos can all be infused into black and herbal teas. Simply add slices (or cubes) into hot water along with your preferred blend of herbs/tea leaves. Brew for 3-5 minutes before straining out the fruit pieces and enjoying responsibly!
